Mr. Dunbar received his undergraduate degree at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 1978 and his law degree from Loyola Law School in June of 1981. He was admitted to practice law in California in November 1981, after passing the Bar exam.

Mr. Dunbar began his legal career with the Law Offices of Melvin Belli, Sr. in 1981. Mr. Belli was a pioneer in the field of plaintiffs' personal injury and has been designated "The King of Torts".

Following Mr. Dunbar's tenure with the Belli Firm, he became partners with David S. Sabih, a prominent trial lawyer throughout the State of California. Following Mr. Sabih's retirement in 1991, Mr. Dunbar moved his practice from Beverly Hills, California and opened his office in Torrance, California.

Mr. Dunbar is an "AV" rated lawyer, which is the highest rating established by Martindale-Hubbell's Law Directory. This rating is only given to attorneys and law firms with very high to preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by confidential opinions from members of the Bar.

Los Angeles Magazine - In 2007, 2008, and 2009 Los Angeles Magazine named Mr. Dunbar to its roster of "Super Lawyers" in Southern California.
